Take Five 6x6"

$150.00

About this Collection:

This smaller collection is inspired by cozy nights out. The lights are low, there’s jazz playing in the background, there’s a drink in your hand that comes in an oddly specific glass, the folks at the next table have their heads bent towards each other in a conspiratorial hush - no one wants to break the spell of the evening.

The actual reference photo that inspired this piece comes from my 14th wedding anniversary - I was days away from finding out that I’d be getting a divorce, everything had been rapidly unraveling for a few months by this point. Instead of mourning what was going on around me and what was I knew deep down going to be my last wedding anniversary with my husband, I decided to still celebrate love - I took two of my girlfriends, who had been secretly helping keep me mentally and physically afloat during that weird season of life, out to an expensive French dinner. The evening was so full of love, laughter, and life - I know that sounds like a cliche, but it was a brilliant end to a painful chapter. This painting is a cheers to what’s next.
